Rejigg Success Story

Trusted Internet

The Intro That Closed Itself

The Business

Trusted Internet is a managed security firm built the way its founder learned to build in the Navy: lean, senior, and around the clock. Founded in 2017, it provides managed detection and response for a client base of roughly one hundred, from high-net-worth family offices referred through private banks to defense-sector companies with compliance-grade requirements.

Jeff Stutzman spent thirty-five years in cybersecurity before founding the company: Navy intelligence officer, Cisco, chief information security officer work at Northrop Grumman, and the DoD Cyber Crime Center. He bootstrapped Trusted Internet from a whiteboard and sold it for the most human reason on this page: his wife, a nurse who worked the COVID floors, had earned her retirement, and he wanted to give it to her.

How the Deal Happened

This deal is proof that one good introduction can be the whole process. Jeff met his eventual buyer through Rejigg in January 2024 in a single call. The conversation went quiet, life and diligence took their time, and more than two years later the same introduction closed as a completed sale. Not every deal runs on a platform timeline; some just need the right two people to have met.

Deal Highlights

35-Year Pedigree

Founder's career spans Navy intelligence, Cisco, Northrop Grumman, and the DoD Cyber Crime Center.

Built Lean by Design

A senior, around-the-clock security operation without big-company bloat.

Sold for Family

The founder sold so his wife, a COVID-floor nurse, could retire.

One Intro Was Enough

A single Rejigg call in January 2024 became the sale, more than two years later.

The Buyer

Trusted Internet was acquired by a private equity buyer introduced through Rejigg, with the founder supporting the transition. The buyer backed a lean, senior security operation exactly as built, keeping the model that made the firm trusted by the kinds of clients who do not forgive mistakes.
